Words from Thomas Jeffeson that apply to America today

Thomas Jefferson, one of our Founding Fathers and the first professor of law in his new country, spoke these following words in his day and they are so real for today in America.

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."

"That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves."

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

"Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence."

"No man will ever carry out of the Presidency the reputation which carried him into it."

"The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers."

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

"All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression."

"Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the form of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question."

Health Care Bill before Congress

Hopefully most Americans know of the overhaul being performed on our HealthCare system in our country by the Obama administration.

He wants to get it done quickly and the Senators and Representatives probably by their own admission have not even read the 1140 page bill.

In its current form, this is not for America.

Click here to read the main "talking" and "sticky" points that need addressing or removing before this bill can even be considered.

If you never contacted your Senator or Representative in the past about any issues before them, this is the one you had better read up on and email or phone your elected officials in Washington.

July 4th TEA Parties Across America

April 15 saw a nationwide phenomenon of grassroots rallies for liberty, smaller government, and lower taxes, dubbed “TEA Parties” (Taxed Enough Already), in honor of the Boston Tea Party of the Revolutionary era.

This Independence Day, July 4, 2009, the TEA-partiers are gearing up for another surge of rallies to fight yet more surges of big government proposals from an already power-bloated Washington, D.C.

Find your local TEA Party at the “official” TEA Party website by clicking here.

It’s time Americans began defending our independence from tyranny rather than merely celebrating it.
